Track #23 of 2024: Ryan Adams: So Lost

The track "So Lost" by Ryan Adams has the twenty third spot in the countdown for 2024. It's a heartfelt song that hurls my mind and soul back to the early 80s and AM radio. A shiver and a sigh...

Laura Marling: Patterns In Repeat

Laura Marling's latest effort, Patterns In Repeat, is a quiet affair that examines the intricacies of life, love and family. It's the latter that really got to me emotionally. Her songs about her first child are deep and heartfelt.

One of my faves....

I am quite loving oh so much the latest release from Nashville's own Soccer Mommy. It's a deep exploration, both thematically and stylistically, of the feminine soul and all its rays of light.

London Grammar: The Greatest Love (Album of the Week)

London Grammar is back with their fourth record. The Greatest Love is their greatest record and one of the best of the year. The album opens with an imperial declaration.

Then they take it down a notch stylistically but not thematically.

Then comes the track that would make all of their hometown of Nottingham proud.

Such a gorgeous record...start listening!

Tears For Fears have a live album with four new studio tracks that kick off the record, perfectly names as Songs For A Nervous Planet.  The live set is as stellar as all their concerts but those first four tracks are really something special.

The best of the lot is this one...

Thee Sacred Souls: Got A Story To Tell (Album of the Week)

Thee Sacred Souls get the nod for my album of the week this week. Got A Story To Tell continues the 21st century soul revival that we are seeing all over the world. This San Diego builds upon their first record with even more magical R&B chestnuts.

The album opens with this gem...

So Motown 1970's...

Here's another track that I can't get out of my head...

We are all one and the same...

Soul power!
