Luke Winslow-King: Coast of Light

Sometimes you just need the Blues. And Luke Winslow-King's latest record, Coast of Light, delivers big time. It's not just his guitar work that shines here but his voice is simply magical.

Opening track...

Pokey LaFarge: Rhumba Country (Album of the Week)

Pokey LaFarge is the pure embodiment of Americana. His music digs deep into the manifest destiny that is the United States. It's as if a time warp opened up and LaFarge spilled out from the American Century. Of course, it all makes sense because his origin point is at the heart of the Midwest, St Louis, Missouri by way of Bloomington, Illinois!

His latest record is called Rhumba Country. The album opens with a mover and a shaker...

Later we hear this cooker...

Even later, it's time for that romantic partner...

I feel so patriotic listening to this record. You should listen to it too!!

Robert Finley: BlackBayou

Are you ready for some stanky and dirty blues? Look no further than Black Bayou by the legendary Robert Finley. The Berince, Louisiana native tells the stories of the swamp on this one and man oh man are they filled with heartache.

Perfect!

The Robert Cray Band: That's What I Heard

Robert Cray is back with a stellar new record called That's What I Heard. I've been a fan since the early 80's and it's comforting in these unsettled times to know that some things never change. Cray shreds out 12 tracks of blues joy. Yes, that's possible! You can get happier after listening to the blues!!
